Community Events Policy

Effective: March 2026

Our Role

Storey's in the Dirt is a publishing company and community bulletin board. We share information about community gatherings, learning opportunities, skill-sharing, and local exchange of goods. We are not an event organizer, promoter-for-hire, or venue operator.

Events listed on this site are submitted by community members and organizations. Listing or promotion of an event does not indicate that Storey's in the Dirt organizes, manages, endorses, or is affiliated with the event or its hosts.

Participant Responsibility

Event hosts, vendors, speakers, teachers, and attendees are solely responsible for their own activities, conduct, goods, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws — including but not limited to food safety regulations, sales tax, permits, and licensing.

Submission Review

All event listings and participation submissions are reviewed before publication. Review is editorial in nature — we reserve the right to approve, deny, or remove listings at our discretion to maintain the quality and integrity of the community calendar.

Approval for publication does not constitute endorsement of any person, business, product, or service. Denial of a listing does not reflect a judgment of the submitter's character or legality of their activities.

Listing Fees

Community event listings are currently free while the calendar grows. Any future fees will be for promotional placement only — not for participation in events themselves.

Removal Requests

To request removal of a listing, contact us at teri@storeysinthedirt.com. We will process removal requests within 5 business days.

Prohibited Content

We will not list events or participants that involve:

  • Illegal activity
  • Harassment, discrimination, or hate speech
  • Misleading or fraudulent representations
  • Spam or commercial solicitation unrelated to rural/homestead community
